TEXRail Project
Gunter Engineering provided Support of Excavation design services to twin the 27 mile Railway track from Fort Worth to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The existing Railway Line was maintained in service with live railway traffic while the adjacent trackline was excavated and built up. Tie-ins to new and existing bridges that utilized permanent piles as part of the phased Excavation were also reviewed and modified as required.
Racine Hydroelectric Dam FERC No. 2570 Project
500 Lineal Feet of Support of Excavation design for an Access Ramp were provided. Other Engineering Services provided by Gunter Engineering were Tremie Area Cells Review, Drill Rig Barge Plan, Concrete Hopper Design, 43 Ft. x 54 Ft. Rebar Mat Placement Spreader, Area Concrete Placement Decks, and Aggregate Shelter Roof Anchorage.
Bayonne Bridge, Replacement of Main Span Roadway and Approach Structures
This large and high profile project raised the existing roadway of the bridge by 64 feet to accommodate larger modern ships access to important eastern ports. The 1675 Ft. main span arch had to remain open to shipping traffic and the bridge roadway had to also remain open to highway traffic during the construction. Engineering Services provided by Gunter Engineering included: Segment Lifting Anchorage Design and Review, Mi-Jack 150 Ton Lifting Frame, 120 Ton Spreader Beam, Post-Tensioning Mock-Up, Pier Segment 100 Ton Positioning Jack Box, Roadway Segment Rebar Prefab Templates, Variable Counterweight Lifting Beams, 8 Ft. x 40 Ft. Rigged Rebar Handling Platform, and Barge Lifelines. Work service items designed included: Hydraulic Pump Lift Baskets, Anchored 4 Ton Winch Operation and Lift Sled, PT Strand Detensioning Chairs, Closure Formwork Winch Frame, and Closure Pour Cart Support.
Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, Water Reclamation Facility
Structural Foundation improvement to 32 Ft. tall silos was required while the silos remained in service and assumed full of product. The silos and other structures were temporarily supported in a manner that allowed all foundations to be removed and replaced at the same time.
Project Neon
A (5) Bridge package was taken on and completed for the engineering design of Deck Falsework, Girder Bracing, and Pier Column Rebar Bracing.
Black Mountain Boulevard Interchange
Gunter Engineering provided engineering design for the (4) Bridge project including: Deck Falsework, Girder Bracing, Column Rebar Bracing, Pier Cap Falsework, and Column Formwork.
Hayden Ferry Lakeside Garage, 9th Level Addition to the Existing Structure
This project added a 9th Level to an already existing structure that was open to use. The scope of the engineering work was to provide Deck Falsework/Formwork and multi-floor Reshoring design. A challenge of this project was that as much of the garage as possible had to remain in use and open to parking during the construction. In contention with this, the existing structure had a reduced Parking Live Load rating by a code allowed 40% Live Load Reduction and a 5” thick deck in many areas.
Oroville Dam, Spillways Recovery
The foundation designs were provided for the Concrete Batch Plant, Mixer, Aggregate Hopper, and (7) Cement/Fly Ash Silos as well as a Grading Plan for the Batch Plant Area.
Deer Valley Water Treatment Plant, 20 MG Reservoir 1
A variety of engineering designs were completed including: Wall Rebar Bracing, Wall Formwork and Bracing, Roof and various Deck Formwork / Falsework, Review Equipment Loads on Permanent Structure, and a Hydro Test Bulkhead.
Val Vista Transmission Main
Engineering work was completed for reviews of (3) Slide Rail Shorings with W36 Waler Top Bracing, a 1 -Sided Wallform design, a Slab Removal design, and reviews of the Pipe Segment Installation Transport and Devices.
